Eligible Professionals

Under PQRS, covered professional services are those paid under or based on the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS). To the extent that eligible professionals are providing services which get paid under or based on the PFS, those services are eligible for PQRI.

Eligible and Able to Participate

The following professionals are eligible to participate in PQRI:

1. Medicare physicians

1. Doctor of Medicine
2. Doctor of Osteopathy
3. Doctor of Podiatric Medicine
4. Doctor of Optometry
5. Doctor of Oral Surgery
6. Doctor of Dental Medicine

1. Physician Assistant
2. Nurse Practitioner
3. Clinical Nurse Specialist
4. Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (and Anesthesiologist Assistant)
5. Certified Nurse Midwife
6. Clinical Social Worker
7. Clinical Psychologist
8. Registered Dietician
9. Nutrition Professional
10. Audiologists (as of 1/1/2009)
